There , in kailash mata is returning after 3 days of mensturation cycle. Preparations
for her arrival have justbegin. Ganesh and Kartikey are excited for mata’s arrival.

Lord shiva waits eagerly for her arrival .

But why so? Why are there celebrations in kailash? The answer lies in the auspiciousness
of shraavan month.

For humans it is a month of fastings, sadhna and manyother spiritual aspect, but
what is so special about celebrations at kailash? Shraavan maas often refered assawan
signifies the renewal of prakriti in both spiritual and physical aspect. It is the
time not only for divine lovebut also the union of purush and prakriti. What is
sospecial about this divine union?

The divine union reflects the rejuvination of nature. Nature , the prakriti has
greater importance in human’slife and it’s rejuvination brings in greater spiritual
upliftment. Major fasts , sadhnas can be performed as itstarts from the POORNIMA
TITHI( auspicious for startingany sadhna). Also purnima falls on the fifteenth day
and15th refers to lord kameshwar i.e shiva and 16th is matalalita/parvati/kameshwari.
The energy flow in thebramhand mandal increases and every being on earth isfilled
with joy, happiness and peace. What relation it haswith the human society, is it
just fast, offering water andbelpatra or beyond it ?

It is definitely beyond the physical aspect of bhakti. Onecan achieve this union
within as shiva and shakti residein every human being as per the concept of advaitvad.
Materialistic offering can be thoughtfully changed asjust being a material aspect.
But how? Let’s understandthis.

Offering water signifies cleansing of the soul, surrenderance of shadripus ( 6 enemies
of human ) andgoing with the flow . offering belpatra signifies balancing the tri-
gunas i.e satva, rajas & tamas. Offeringof dhatura signifies surrendering negative
addictions and tamas urja to lord shiva and the desire to get uplifted from these.

Every spiritual practice in sanatan is related to one’s upliftment. The only need
is to revive oneself andunderstand a deeper significance of the rituals.
